Guidelines for teachers and students
The purpose of this article is to help students to be more informed when looking for a suitable Middle Eastern Dance teacher. In this way I hope they will keep themselves safe, and have an enjoyable pastime that will last for years. For others it may lead to a professional or semi-professional career.
I hope to give teachers food for thought if they’re planning or have already embarked on a teaching career.
I hope that for everyone it leads to a great network of friends and fellow dancers who share a love and respect for this beautiful art form.
The views expressed here are my own. I don’t expect everyone to agree with them but they are heartfelt and offered in a spirit of friendship. Maybe they will provoke debate.
