Music to dance to

Pedralta WebZine

Have you ever wondered what that piece of music was that you heard in a workshop? Or been stuck for ideas for a performance piece?

Here is a list of our favourites. The links take you to Amazon.

Great entrance/opening pieces

Ulvi (Passion Sources track 4) - A beautiful Nai track, only 1.41 minutes. Great for an opening.

Great processional pieces

Sabahiva (Passion Sources track 6) - mizmar based track. Great for a short sword piece or "processional" entrance

Get 'em movin' & groovin'

Fallahi (Passion Sources track 5) - Hossam Ramzy's feisty tabla strikes again! A really fun track.
Works well with zils. Fast and full of interest. Very danceable!!

Flamenco Fusion

We have developed Pedralta Flamenco Fusion, going back to the roots of Flamenco and incorporating flamenco and sevillana moves into our improvisational repertoire. These moves are available as workshops.

Lyric (Sundance) - Kevin Laliberte. Slow guitar piece - lovely for duets. Lends itself to fades, turns, etc. Veeery pretty...

Fiesta Fatal (Fiesta Fatal!) - B-Tribe. Techno flamenco sounds. Its length and interest makes it ideal for a large troupe. Time for lots of fades and lead changes.

Tangos (Un Noche de Flamenco en Andalucia) - Jose M. Roldán, José Parrondo & Manuel Salado. Guitar, vocals and palmas (clapping). Ideal for drill. This is a nice steady pace and full of passion, to get you in that Flamenco frame of mind.

Rumba Flamenco (El Viento Flamenco in Concert) - El Viento Flamenco. Guitar, vocals and palmas (clapping). Ideal for drill. This is a nice steady pace and full of passion, to get you in that Flamenco frame of mind.
